Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are used to restore volume and treat lines and wrinkles which are often the first signs of the ageing process.
The dermal fillers that Dr Fiona uses are a synthetic form of hyaluronic acid which are injected under the skin in order to restore volume and contour to facial features. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance within our skin and is responsible for the hydrated and plump appearance of youthful skin.
Dr Fiona uses dermal fillers from both Juvéderm as well as Teoxane fillers as, very simply, she feels they are the best quality on the market and give natural and subtle results. These ranges also have local anaesthetic incorporated in it, ensuring comfort during the procedure.
You will be able to see results immediately, with best results seen in approximately 2-3 weeks following treatment. Results can last between 12-18 months, depending on area treated and lifestyle factors.

How Do Dermal Fillers Work?
The dermal fillers that Dr Fiona uses in clinic are made of hyaluronic acid, which is naturally produced by the skin. When injected, the hyaluronic acid restores volume which this in turn helps to keep the skin looking plump and smooth.
When Will I See Results and How Long Do They Last?
You will be able to see results from dermal fillers straight away – however it takes around 2-3 weeks for the full results to be seen. Depending on the area treated, results can last between 6-12 months.
Are There Any Risks Associated with Dermal Fillers?
The risks associated with dermal filler include the potential of bruising, swelling or redness at the injection site. Although uncommon, there is also the possibility of infection or asymmetry. Dr Fiona will discuss the potential risks with you during your pre-treatment consultation.
