Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Dr Fiona uses botulinum toxin A Botox® – one of the most recognisable brands in the world- for treating wrinkles as well other medical conditions.
Botulinum toxin is injected into the specific muscle which requires treatment and works by disrupting the nerve signalling process, therefore ‘relaxing’ it. As a result, the wrinkle is reduced and a smoother, brighter appearance is achieved. Dr Fiona uses botulinum toxin A also known as Botox® which has been widely used for medical purposes for more than 30 years and has been approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for cosmetic use.
Typically, it takes between 3-14 days for the toxin to take effect and results last around 3-4 months.

Will I be able to move my face following anti-wrinkle injections?
Yes. The ‘frozen’ face is a common concern amongst patients -however this can be caused by excessive product being injected to a particular area. The aim of wrinkle relaxing injections is to ‘relax’ them as opposed to ‘freeze’ them. Dr Fiona will discuss the best plan for you during your treatment.
How long do they last?
In general, botulinum toxin injections last between 3-6 months, depending on lifestyle factors.
What are the side effects?
Possible side effects of treatment can include The side effects are usually very minimal but can at times include headache, bruising or redness at the injection site. Dr Fiona will discuss all of the side effects thoroughly in your initial consultation.
