Excessive Sweating

Sweating is a normal physiological response in order to regulate body temperature.

However, for some, it can be excessive, embarrassing and uncomfortable. Excessive sweating is also known as hyperhidrosis and is a condition when the body sweats more than usual or when it does not need to.

It can affect the entire body or be specific to certain areas, most commonly the armpits, palms of the hands or soles of feet.

In the majority of patients, there will be no clear cause for this but in a small minority, it can indicate an underlying medical issue.

Treatments which can help with this concern include:

  • Botulinum Toxin Injections

If the excessive sweating is localised to a particular area such as armpits, botulinum toxin  can considerably reduce the production of sweat.
